Dr. Kozakiewicz's research focuses on using genomic tools to examine how the environment shapes ecological and evolutionary interactions between wildlife and their infectious diseases.  Through his research, he strives to deepen our understanding of how the environmental changes we as humans impose on wildlife influence their ability to persist in the face of threats such as infectious disease.
